Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters gets some pretty heavy sounds with a Gibson Trini Lopez (which is basically an ES-335 with a Firebird headstock) through a Mesa Rectifier. Depends what your definition of metal is. – But if your? question tries to suggest that Greg should demonstrate more metal sounds in his videos, that probably won’t ever happen :-D
