I did this cover in a rush and I never even realized until a few months after posting it how great the tone match was. At the time of this recording I was using the Slipknot and Stinkfist settings…try one of those out, I don’t think it was a custom setting of my own but to be honest I can’t really remember. Good luck and thanks!! 8-)

Beautiful guitar.
Nice job too, though I’m not that fond of the song.

Awesome cover 5 stars!!! And who cares how he plays it, we all have different styles and methods. I play in drop D so i go on the 17th and 18th frets and it sounds fine. Its up to each guitarist how they want to play. Anyway awesome job!!!

burnthairturd March 12, 2010 at 12:47 pm

This is how Tony from Godsmack actually plays it but it can be played in different ways…it’s all in your preference I guess.

UnconciousHippie March 12, 2010 at 12:56 pm

the way i play the main riff, i dont go on the higher frets (19th and 20th frets on the low E)

SilencedoGood00 March 12, 2010 at 1:53 pm

@burnthairturd
the riff´s alright, you really nailed the tone good.
you should listen more carefully to the song, play it with palm muting, not dead notes and no hammer ons. if you want I give you my icq, skype or msn addy and show it to you exactly through the cam.

burnthairturd March 12, 2010 at 4:43 pm

Thanks, I know it’s not 100% but can you tell me what I’m doing wrong? Thanks man.

Blader999 March 12, 2010 at 5:24 pm

Nice tone but you´re playing it wrong, mostly.

HazeHUDCITY March 12, 2010 at 5:46 pm

there is another way to play it which is using an open C string and 12 and 13 on the G string but for it to sound perfect you would have to mute the open string when not in use and that is just a great annoyance plus this way is pretty easy

365daysgone March 12, 2010 at 6:42 pm

i know. Im asking why he wouldnt play it the easier way?

HazeHUDCITY March 12, 2010 at 7:07 pm

because thats how it is played if you watch godsmack live you notice thats how tony play’s it
