Thanks Mr Dave, I was asking myself? how to clean and keep my Takamine happy. These tips sound great. I like the show very much. Thanks for sharing.

Uh oh, I guess someone should tell B.B. King about that, he winds the entire string and never goes out? of tune ;)

ed801975 July 10, 2012 at 7:04 pm

1:33 Sounds? like a sitar!

davey4557 July 10, 2012 at 8:03 pm

ok
show? your video and the physics behind your claim

kevin99291 July 10, 2012 at 8:46 pm

that is the worst possible way to string a guitar the more winding you have the more trouble you will have to keep it? in tune

Gusiscool91 July 10, 2012 at 9:11 pm

Thanks!!!?

Cheers dude :) It’s got an OCP1K pickup in it which although sounds nice is a pain in the ass as the saddle’s part of the unit :( . Think I’ve shaved an? sanded as much as I can outa the poxy thing :/.. Time I bought a dremmel…

Songwriter4God July 10, 2012 at 11:00 pm

You can buy The One at Guitar? Center. It’s not just online.

davey4557 July 10, 2012 at 11:07 pm

10/4 buddy. I forgot and left a linseed oil paper towel on top of the garage? frig where I’d tossed it after treating a fretboard (I’d meant to burn it in the driveway but got sidetracked), and it apparently did a partial smolder burn and flame-out two weeks later. Yikes, I smelled it that morn and thought wtf is that. Cranked the overhead door open and the wind blew the ashes down.

Was a credit card thickness plastic shim sufficient under the? saddle?

davey4557 July 11, 2012 at 1:48 am

lighter fluid or simple green? or both

davey4557 July 11, 2012 at 2:46 am

I would shave? the top and the saddle
that is standard practise on a stable well glued bridge
bridge removal my not be easy

davey4557 July 11, 2012 at 2:53 am

I’ll? be getting one soon :)

SiCF1ST July 11, 2012 at 3:24 am

Dave, do you want a? new bottle of Linseed oil?

Fourqmofo July 11, 2012 at 3:53 am

hi dude. Just got an ovation celebrity deluxe cse44 cheap because the bridge is too high. Removed all the shims an straightened the neck but it’s? still high. The 2 ways i can think of are to cut the slot deeper an sand the top down or take it off an sand the bottom. Was wondering if you’d had any experience with korean ovations and knew what glue they’re stickin em down with?? I’d rather do the bottom cos there’s plenty of material to take off and it’d retain the original shape on top..

Remember NOT to leave rags soaked with linseed oil lying around, this is a huge fire hazard.? The rags may actually spontanuosly combust since the linseed oil oxidizes, and this is an exothermic reaction.

MrStu9459 July 11, 2012 at 5:00 am

Naa no shares…. he just uses it for wanking on the bench which is no good now as his new Mic? picks up his every movement……. haar haar…:)

HBSuccess July 11, 2012 at 5:41 am

Yeah I’ve had a couple Ovations that? required that – problem is the repair did cost almosdt as much as the guitar – 3-4 frets pulled…fingerboard hand-leveled… fret slots re-sawed and frets replaced (with slightly lower profile frets…. Fixed it but was a costly job.

Gusiscool91 July 11, 2012 at 6:15 am

What? would you recommend on a maple neck?

ohYew812 July 11, 2012 at 6:48 am

I like the kink. ? I like the under-wind, too.

acefrehley813 July 11, 2012 at 9:04 am
